Dr. Oganesyan immigrated to Los Angeles in 1994 from the Eastern European country of Armenia. After building a successful dental laboratory, he decided to fulfill his dream and become a dentist.

Dr. Oganesyan obtained his Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2001.  In 2005, he graduated from the UCLA Masters Program in Oral Biology with an emphasis on the advanced study and biomechanics of dental implants. In 2009, Dr. Oganesyan earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California.

Since he began his graduate studies in 2003, he has presented his research findings both nationally and internationally. As a dental student at USC, he was elected to present his research reports and clinical trial studies  to the Newport Harbor Academy of Dentistry in California.

As a recognized leader in the biomechanics of dental implants, Dr. Oganesyan has received multiple clinical science and scholastic awards (UCSB - Genesis Award 2001, Annual Undergraduate Colloquium 2001, UCLA SD - Research Grant 2004, USC HOSD - Clinical Science Award 2nd and 3rd place 2007, Universidad Nacional Autonoma De Mexico - CONSTANCIA Award May 2007, Grant for IADR by NIDCR  March 2008).

In 2011 he completed two years of residency in Advanced Education of General Dentistry through A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. His clinical training included advanced work in surgical implants, bony impacted extractions, soft and hard tissue grafts, periodontal surgeries, endodontic therapies, and to treat complex dental cases as well as medically complex patients.

Dr. Oganesyan’s passion for dentistry is pursued by continuously attending courses and seminars, following the most recent research findings, and keeping up with the latest advancements and treatment modalities in order to implement them in his patient care so he can treat each patient with the highest standard of care.

He is a member of International Association for Dental Research, American Dental Association, Arizona Dental Association, California Dental Association and International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

In addition to working with Dr. Fazel, Dr. Oganesyan is currently Clinical Faculty at A.T. Still University's Advanced Education of General Dentistry program where he trains resident dentists in advanced restorative and implant dentistry.
